Five South Callaway runners medal at Helias meet

JEFFERSON CITY - Five Bulldogs runners - three on the girls' side and two on the boys' side - were among the top 15 finishers and medaled at the Helias Invitational on Saturday.

The South Callaway boys fielded just two runners and didn't register a team score. Sophomore Tristan Peneston finished in 19 minutes, 25 seconds to come in 15th place and senior Glen Healy crossed the line in 45th place in a time of 23:27.

Sophomore Taylor Howard was the top girls finisher for the Lady Bulldogs, coming in fourth place in a time of 22:12. Sophomore Abigail Luebbert finished in ninth place at 23:17. Senior Jasmine Muerer came in 12th place in a time of 24:13 and sophomore Andrea Rodriguez was South Callaway's last medalist, finishing in 14th place with a time of 24:42.

Juniors Serina Booher and Jaerie Booher were the final two Lady Bulldogs to finish, coming in 33rd and 36th respectively. Serina crossed the finish line in 29:18 and Jaerie posted a time of 29:54.

Freshmen Terry Miles and Joshua Brooks competed in junior varsity division. Miles came in 47th in a time of 22:15 and Brooks finished in 27:48, good for 67th place. South Callaway next runs at the St. Francis Borgia meet at 9 a.m. Friday.
